Today we were reminded why we do what we do.
Our Thompsonville School District hosted a Field Day Event earlier this year for surrounding schools and this week, we received the sweetest surprise.
We were sent a heartfelt thank you letter from a K–3 Special Education teacher at Sesser, along with a wall full of handmade thank you drawings from their students.
Their teachers shared that their students are still talking about the event and that it was a highlight of their school year so far with all the fun games. And that the T-shirts we provided are something they’ll cherish for a long time.
Seeing these notes and pictures reminds us how important these community days are and not just for fun, but for connection, joy, and making every child feel seen, included, and celebrated.
To our volunteers, staff, sponsors, and students, YOU made this impact happen. Your time, your energy, your heart… it mattered more than you know.

7th grade had 🔥heated 🔥debates in class today. We have been reading about Phineas Gage, who had a tamping iron shoot through his skull and he lived for many years!
There will be no after school tutoring on Monday, November 24th. Tutoring will resume as normal on Monday, December 1st.
