Due to a tragic loss in our school and community, we want to focus on supporting our students, staff and families during this time. Therefore events for tomorrow, including PBIS day and the 6th grade field trip, will be postponed. Please see the school website or social media for further information.
Congrats to the 2026-2027

Dear Thompsonville CUSD #174 Students, Staff, Families, and Community,
Today, our hearts are heavy as we continue to grieve the tragic loss of one of our students. This loss has deeply impacted our entire school community, and we know many are experiencing sadness, shock, and heartbreak.
School will remain open tomorrow as scheduled so that we can provide students and staff with the support, care, and connection they may need during this difficult time. Counselors, social workers, and additional support personnel will be available throughout the day for anyone who would like assistance or simply someone to talk to.
In addition, the school will be open this evening for students, staff, families, and community members who may wish to come together, talk, reflect, or simply be with one another during this difficult time.
Due to safety concerns at the accident site, the Sheriff respectfully asks that any memorial items be brought to the school instead. Students and community members are welcome to place flowers, notes, or other items at the student's crossing guard location on campus as a safe place to honor and remember her.
We understand that everyone grieves differently, and we encourage families to make the decision that is best for their child. Above all, we ask that our community continue to keep the student’s family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers while respecting their privacy.
In times like these, we lean on one another, support one another, and remind our students that they are never alone.
Sincerely,
— Lindsay Robinson, Superintendent
