Jody was deployed in several operations of combat. The largest being Operation Anaconda, which is detailed in the book Not A Good Day to Die, and is the largest combat operation in Afghanistan. Jody also received several Military Awards. Master Aviator Badge, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal just to name a few. During his Military time he also married a Thompsonville Alumni, Parri (Brown) Kilburn class of 91. They have two children, Jacob (25) and Madison (20). Jacob is a professional MMA fighter and Madison attends Austin Peay State University. Jody has earned several degrees. Bachelors Degree from Austin Peay State University in Public Management, and Masters Degree from Union University in Christian Studies. Jody has been ordained in the Gospel Ministry since December of 2003. He has served as youth pastor, associate pastor, senior pastor, and currently serves as Director of Missions/Associational Mission Strategist for Hopkinsville/Christian County KY. In his spare time he has also co-authored a book, Dominion-A Daily Devotional for Outdoorsman.
When asked what memories he had from Thompsonville High School he wrote " There are many, mostly good. What I will highlight is how each class was like a large family of about 20-25. We did everything together and in my case, most of those I graduated with I started Kindergarten with. I am still in contact with most of my classmates 34 years later. Some in-person and some through social media. I am even in contact with classmates who did not finish at T-Ville but were with us for a few years.
The other memory that jumps out is sports...I was privileged to participate and represent our school in basketball, cross country, track, and baseball...all great memories...wish I could do it again"
Thank you Mr. Jody Kilburn for allowing us to tell your story. You make Thompsonville School Proud that you are one of our alumni.
