📣 A LITTLE SNEAK PEEK OF TCHS CHEER! 💙
Here’s a little look at what our High School Cheerleaders have been working on! These girls have come a LONG way, and while we still have a long way to go, they continue to show up, work hard, and make progress every practice. And this morning, they did all of this while we were missing 3 of our girls! 💙👏
This morning was also a special one as our senior, Lanie Williams, took the Captain’s Pledge! 💙 We can’t wait to watch her leadership skills grow as she steps into this role and leads her team throughout her senior season.
Tigers, get ready! 👀📣 These girls have been putting in the work, and they’re just getting started!
💙🤍 LET’S GO, TIGERS! 🐯📣

To wrap up our first week of school, our junior high math enrichment classes were challenged to work in groups to accomplish a common goal. Students completed a fun activity in which they were challenged to put together a puzzle. With three to four students per group, students were instructed to collaborate to build the puzzle while only doing one job. The first person's job was to put together the puzzle pieces while blindfolded. Another person in the group was allowed to give them verbal directions to try to help them, but this person was not allowed to touch any puzzle pieces. The final student(s) were allowed to lightly guide the hands of the blindfolded person to the correct pieces, but they were not allowed to talk. Each student had a turn in each of the jobs.
At the end of the activity students reflected on the challenges they faced when working alongside others. As we shared with one another we found that some parts that felt challenging for some of us felt like the easiest parts for others. We also learned that we each had parts that we felt were our strengths and others that we would see as our weaknesses. Finally, students shared their frustrations and how they could overcome them by encouraging team members and helping others to do their jobs most effectively for the sake of the group. What we found is that our different preferences and strengths are what make us great and successful as we work together! It was a great morning full of learning and lots of laughter! What a wonderful way to end our first week back to school. Have a great weekend, Tigers!🐅
