Congratulations to Brian Gibbs and our very own Mace Ridgeway from the Galatia/Thompsonville Basscats H.S. team. They placed 7th with a total of 15lbs 6oz out of 74 boats that competed on Sunday.

The school with the help of the PTO supplied students who tested proficient or above during last year IAR testing with t-shirts. Students who received IAR t-shirts last week please wear these on Friday for a group picture.

✨ What a magical night at our Daddy Daughter Dance! ✨ Thank you to all the amazing dads (and father figures) who took the time to bring your daughters out and make them feel so special. Watching those sweet moments on the dance floor was something we won’t forget 💕 We absolutely loved seeing all of the girls dressed up and having the best time. It was truly a night full of smiles, laughter, and memories. A huge shoutout to Britney Gaither for adding that extra sparkle with the hair tinsel. It was such a hit with the girls and made the night even more fun! ✨ Thank you to everyone who came out and made the evening so special. We can’t wait to do it again next year! 💃🕺

Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department is coming to Thompsonville Schools for 6th grade and 12th grade
immunizations on April 30, 2026. Please use this QR code to sign up your child to receive the required school vaccinations for 6th and 12th grade. Per Illinois State guidelines a child who is entering 6th grade and has already turned 11 years of age needs a Tdap booster and meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4). 12th grade students need a booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), with the dose administered on or after their 16th birthday.

There will be no after school tutoring the week of 3/23 or the week of 3/30 due to state testing followed by a short week before Spring Break. Tutoring will resume on Monday, April 13th.

🏀 March Madness in the Classroom! 🏀
1st Hour High School Computer class (full of athletes!) worked on a March Madness Bracket Activity.
Students created their own 16 matchups for today’s games, combining technology, teamwork, and creativity to bring their brackets to life. They also included space beside each team logo so students can make their predictions for today’s games!

Through this activity, students practiced:
✔️ Research skills – looking up teams, stats, and official logos
✔️ Technology skills – using Google Slides to design and organize their brackets
✔️ Printing & production skills – preparing their work for display
✔️ Hands-on learning – learning how to laminate their finished brackets
✔️ Collaboration & teamwork – working together to make decisions and create a final product
✔️ Critical thinking – predicting outcomes and justifying their choices
✔️ Real-world connections – tying classroom learning to current March Madness events
This was a fun, engaging way to mix digital skills with hands-on learning—and a little friendly competition! We can’t wait to see how their predictions match up with today’s games.
