As an effort to ensure that they will get in on time we want to remind everyone to start booking appointments for physicals, eye and dental exams now. Appointments may be harder to get since they are more spread out for patient safety.

Just a reminder that any student planning to participate in athletics must have a physical on file prior to the first game. Please contact Mrs. Wissinger at mwissinger@tvilleschools.org with any questions.

Report cards were mailed on Monday. If you do not receive a report card for your student, they likely have not returned text books or a sports uniform. Please contact the school ASAP at 618-627-2301 to make arrangements to get these items returned and pick up the report card.

Any student in grades 5-8 who is interested in Middle School Cheerleading should email Coach Houseright at courtney.houseright@outlook.com.

Just a reminder that report cards and diplomas will not be sent until all school items are returned. This includes textbooks, library books, and sport uniforms. Please get these items back to school ASAP. If you are unsure if you owe any items, please contact me at jchiaventone@tvilleschools.org and I can check the list for you.

Senior students are not the only people whose last school year has been affected by this virus. Retiring teachers have lost out on the chance to finish their careers with students in front of them, interacting with students and teaching them. Not seeing that "I got it" moment for the last time. They are missing out on their last lunch conversations with their peers and joking with those they have had lunch with for a very long time. They were not offered the chance to say goodbye to their students and for students to say goodbye to them. People do not get into teaching for the money. People get into teaching for the students and wanting to be a small part of their journey as they become adults. For some students, they are a big part of that journey. We have one teacher retiring this year. Mrs Kelly Shires has taught at Thompsonville for 19 years. I know this is not the way that she wanted to end her career, but I also want her to know the way her career ended has no bearing on the positive impact that she has had on her students and coworkers. I know that a piece of this school will go when she leaves. Good Luck in Retirement Mrs. Shires. Please come back to see us. You will always have a home here.

8th graders we will announce on social media when your diplomas will be ready to pick up. We are waiting on the covers to get here.

Report Cards will be sent home the week of June 1. Honor Roll and High Honor Roll will also be published on our social media during the week of June 1.
